Why can’t I order items online at Decorum?
We expect to offer that service in the near future with a select group of furnishings that translate well from online to in-home.
In the past, we have felt ordering online poses a disadvantage for our customers. It’s one thing to see something you like online, but what if it arrives and isn’t what you expect? Who needs that hassle? This particularly happens with colors that vary when viewed from different computer monitors.
In addition, some items, such as our Stressless Recliners come in various sizes, so we advise customers to come in for a proper “fitting”.
Are your advertised items really available on the showroom floors?
Yes. How frustrating it would be otherwise. We may not have all the colors or fabrics available for every item, but we always make sure that we have several advertised furnishings in stock or on the floor. There are some rare occasions, particularly during a clearance sale, when we may only have one item remaining. It could sell the first day of the sale.
But we would never bait and switch... it’s just not our way of doing business.
When you have a sale, is it really a sale?
Yes. We don’t mark up prices beyond the showroom floor tags and then mark them back down a week later to create the illusion of a sale. That has never seemed like a good business practice to us and one we avoid. Some of our sales, such as Summer and Winter, are reliable events that our customers have come to expect. We have them every year like clockwork and it’s a great way for us to clear out older inventory for new arrivals. There are a few exceptions to our sales.
Some manufacturers will not allow us to discount their product and are not included in our events. We may, however, have an opportunity to offer specials on those furnishings in the future according to the manufacturer’s schedule and terms.
Why is delivery an extra charge?
We don’t add delivery to the price of an item unless you need delivery.Surprisingly, many of our customers pick up furnishings when they purchase so why penalize them to pay for a service they don’t need?
Our delivery charge is a nominal fee that essentially covers the cost of a truck, driver, fuel, insurance and delivery personnel. Many customers find our “White Glove” service a bargain, especially when they need a sectional installed on a third floor flat.
Can you guarantee a delivery date?
No, but let us explain. We make every effort possible not to disappoint our customers in any way. We bend over backwards in an attempt to make our deliveries reliable. We especially hate to waste anyone’s time waiting for delivery.
Sometimes our trucks get caught in unavoidable traffic jams or a summer thunderstorm drowns out the route to your home. When that happens, we call you to notify you of a delay and follow up with a progress report for a revised delivery time.
It’s rare that these types of mishaps beyond our control occur, but when they do, we look for solutions to stay on schedule.
You advertise “Free Financing”. How can that be free?
Because of our good relationship with several banks, we get financing considerations that may not be available to all of our customers. We are happy to share that benefit with our patrons when we can. In a nutshell, if you make your monthly payments in full and on time, there is no interest charged. It’s that simple. There are stipulations so we suggest you talk with a Decorum associate for complete details. Many people find it the ideal way to get the furniture they need today, without the necessity of paying for it all up front.
